Puppies are growing up...

Kyra

Genetically Normal for CEA/CH TNS

Hips 4:7

Kyra recently went on holiday and even sent Mole a postcard!

Her owner says this about her:

"Kyra is a beautiful and very energetic young lady who loves to run and jump. Fortunately she is also very biddable and keen to please, so agility training has been great fun and she loves every minute of it". Kyra entered her first agility competition recently and got a 3rd place!

Fionn

Genetically Normal for CEA/CH TNS

His owner says this about him:

Fionn is growing a lot, especially his legs and tail. ;-) He's started growing new teeth, too but his ears don't look like they plan to become prick ears, which is very considerate of him since I love wingnut ears. ;-) He is very layed back and simply a cool dude. :-) He's getting along very well with the pack, his best friend and playmate is of course Hazel who is just 6 weeks older. He's very affectionate with his step-granny Nellie, who dotes on him much more than on most other puppies we've had. He also likes to play with little white Flip (7 years old) who is barely bigger than him. Big Taff (2,5 years) is taking on the job of teaching the young rascal manners. When introduced to our sheep Fionn was very interested but also smart enough to sit back and observe the "big boys" doing the job and generally staying out of harm's way, a very sensible attitude I believe. Fionn also featured in a video on clicker training which a friend of mine is filming at the moment. To sum it up, Fionn has very easily found his place in the Clan Alba pack and he seems to develop into a wonderful dog. I'm more than happy to have him and can't thank you enough for this little chap. :-)

Beth

Genetically Normal for CEA/CH TNS

Hips 3:4

These puppies seem to be particularly clever. Kyra can send postcards and Beth has sent another email!

Hello Everybody,
Sorry It's been so long, time just seems to flash by when you are enjoying yourself. I am certainly having a great time. First we have been training for Heelwork to Music (Freestyle) it's really great fun Norma decides which tune we will use and what moves we will perform next she choreographs the moves to the music. Then we go to shows or exhibitions and I decide to alter the choreography - she's not bad as handlers go she catches on pretty quickly and follows my moves. We have done several exhibitions for various clubs and we must have been O.K. because they have given us donations which we are passing on to 'Hearing Dogs for Deaf People'.
We have also gone to a couple of competitions first one we were in 5th place (would have been 1st but I lost points for barking.Ouch! not allowed). second one we were in 4th place. Oh! by the way we perform to Singing in the Rain. We also do other routines to The Dashing White Sergeant and Summer Holiday. We joined some others in an exhibition at The World Highland Games,Callander, last week and on the 12th August we are going to The Heritage Centre ,Bannockburn. The Hearing Dogs are holding a fun day there with lots to do for any of you doggy people who would like to join us. Main event is the Dogs Dinner to see how many dogs can eat in the same place, food and plate provided.
My most important news is that I have been back to see the sheep. Yipee! I love it even although Norma keeps me in hand. She has had to learn to walk backwards which was a real giggle, and she also had to learn how to wave some sort of long stick in the air to keep me going in the right direction. Laura said we did quite well (maybe she was just being polite) Oh! and Norma learned some new sort of shepherding language when the sheep were banging against her legs with their horns.
Well as they say in the movies "That's all for now Folks " Speak to you soon.

Lots of love
Beth

Trouble

Genetically Normal for CEA/CH TNS

Her owner says this about her:

I have nothing but the most favourable things to say about Trouble. She is always very affectionate and easy-going with all people and dogs. She does like to be cuddled. She is very smart but not too boisterous and very sweet-tempered. Only when she sees sheep she goes bonkers a little and I have to make sure she doesn't break the leash *just joking*. The only thing she's ever destroyed so far is my umbrella, it's a bit leaky now. She's eating well, growing well and will surely have prick ears sometime soon. Her coat is long and fluffy. She's just the kind of pup I was hoping for and I'm sure we'll be as successful at the sheep as me and my lads.
